Principle and Features

The pressure acting on the shaft seal is balanced by auxiliary vanes or balance holes on the impeller. The shaft seal can use soft packing seals (with or without cooling) or various types of single or double mechanical seals (balanced type). The ball bearings are durable, and the shaft diameter is generously sized to ensure smooth operation. Some pump sizes are designed with a double volute casing to balance radial forces. The bearing housing, including the shaft, impeller, and stuffing box, forms a single assembly, allowing the pump body to be serviced without being removed from the piping (and the motor does not need to be removed if an extended coupling is used). Flange designs are available in PN16 and PN25 (depending on the material). It can also be used for ANSI 125 psi or 150 psi applications.
